Fire Alarms
A fire can spread very rapidly. An automatic fire alarm system is of utmost importance to help save the lives of the occupants of a burning building! Such a system monitors environmental changes associated with combustion, thus detecting the presence of fire and signaling the need to evacuate the affected area. The system will summon emergency services by reporting the situation to an off-site location, and also ready the associated systems to control the spread of fire and smoke. There are three general classifications of automatic fire alarm systems. They are automatically actuated, manually actuated, or both.
Designin Your Alarm System
In order to establish the fire protection goals for automatic fire alarm systems, there are minimum levels of protection that are mandated. These parameters are controlled by building code, insurance agencies, and other authorities. The alarm designer details specific components, arrangements, and interfaces necessary to reach these goals. There is equipment that is manufactured specifically for these uses. They are used to develop standardized installation measures during the design process. We use NFPA 72 - the National Fire Alarm Code that is often used in the United States as the installation standard.

Permits
